Another view of the mermaid on Bay Street, Beaufort South Carolina. I love mermaids and so many people do. I have collected mermaid paintings, posters, stuffed soft mermaids and just recently got a lovely beaded mermaid from the Lowcountry Store down the road from me. I love the South, even though I wasn't born here and I particularly love Beaufort and the Sea Islands. It has natural beauty with the huge live oaks and plants growing year round. I have seen a wisteria ceiling in the historic district which lasts only a short time but is amazing and delightful. This place on earth is so special. It is like a vivid alive work of art everywhere and makes people think they are artists, as we all are.
