Description
The house called The Castle in Beaufort South Carolina, a huge place and said to be haunted. the cat observing visitors. This is purported to be one of the most photographed houses in the South. It is huge, has many specimen trees including two olives and many mature azaleas, just to mention a few. In back there is a small kitchen house, common in the south. It's interesting to note the residents hid their good china beneath the floor of this little house as Union Troops were invading. The house served as a hospital for the a union troops, the small kitchen house was used to store their dead, serving as a double protection for the families china. This is a must see when visiting Beaufort. Make sure to walk all the way around to the back, where oak trees branch across the roadway.

Thank you Lynn, the house has been rumored to be haunted and it has a creepy feel to it. It was not being lived in when I photographed it.
